Commentary for August 4, 2020: On the previous page, I had been very unhappy with how the textures for the concrete tiles on the ground had looked close up, so for this page, I used them as a guide and filled in the details myself, which gave a much better result. It was a sign that, in the end, I would need to stop using 3D models as a substitute for backgrounds I would draw and colour myself. And talking of those types of backgrounds, I am still very much in romantic love with panel 4. It’s just very nicely framed with the cruiser and Angel Island and the clouds. It’s good. I like it. |
