Commentary for June 29, 2013:

A brief note on terminology, which I thought about including in Wednesday's commentary, but ultimately neglected to. The "rim" and the "core" refer to regions of the Sol system, with the core generally understood to be everything within the orbit of the asteroid belt (the inner planets, etc.), and the rim to be everything between the asteroid belt and the heliopause (the outer planets, the Trojan asteroids, the Kuiper Belt, etc.), with terms like "inner rim", "mid rim", and "outer rim" to differentiate between the closer and more distant parts of what is a very large area (extending at least 15 billion kilometres out). And, yes, I am borrowing those terms from the Star Wars galaxy, but that's only because they're appropriate. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Also, in case you missed Eon's encounter with the Confederate fugitives on Astro Station 25, fear not! This is a webcomic, so you can go back and read Chapter 1. Or just go straight to the relevant page.

Addendum for October 3, 2019:

In order to bring the format of the earlier chapters into line with Chapter 7 onwards, I’ve made an updated version of this page, which is larger, with clearer text. Hopefully, this will make the earlier chapters easier to read.
