What can you say about the first page of a new comic? Well, this was, essentially, the great experiment. Although, to be fair, the whole first chapter has been a great experiment, but this first page here is where the rubber really met the road. As long time readers will know, Eon's World 1.0 (as I am now retroactively calling the previous Eon's Comic/Eon's World book) was a sprite comic. I spent more than eight years developing my skills with the genre and it shows. If you compare page #01 with page #843, you'd barely recognise it. So, there was no question as to whether or not I could do a sprite comic. But could I do a non-sprite comic? Could I do what some would call a "real" comic?

Well, this page answered that question. Slowly, frustratingly, with a lot of trial and error, a lot of going back and redoing things, and a lot of hard lessons learned. But the answer, I'm happy to say, was yes. It turns out I can. I mean, I've done hand-drawn comics before (although this is not entirely hand-drawn, as you can see), but it was never long before I gave up. That said, I haven't drawn a hand-drawn comic since at least 2001, and I think working on a sprite comic for so many years has helped increase my patience. That said, while I don't regret for one moment working on my comic for as long as I did, I do feel that I neglected my drawing skills during that time. Maybe I'd be better now if I'd tried going this route sooner.

That said, I'm not too disappointed with how this page turned out.
