Commentary for February 29, 2020: I’ve been doing a webcomic since October 12, 2002, first with Eon’s Comic and now Eon’s World as of 2013. 2012 and 2015 are the only years since then where I haven’t uploaded any new comic pages to the internet. And yet, in all that time, not one page has ever gone up on February 29. After all, we only ever get a February 29 once every four years. Now, if I’d managed to get Eon’s World Vol. 2 started in 2011 or early in 2012, I might’ve managed to get a page up on February 29 that year, since it was on a Wednesday, one of Vol. 2’s usual upload days, but alas, I was procrastinating something fierce at the time. This year, February 29 is a Saturday and, whether it had been Vol. 1 or Vol. 2, we would have had a page up today, finally. (Well, if I’d gone with my original plan of going straight to Vol. 2, Chapter 11, rather than beginning season 2 of Vol. 1, we might still have been on hiatus right now, in which case we’d have missed it, but I like to think I wouldn’t have needed quite so huge a break.) Anyway, Rouge can drill kick through blast doors? Isn’t that a bit much? I don’t know! Is it a bit much that Sonic can run faster than the speed of sound or that Tails can fly by spinning his (sic) Tails? These are extraordinary people with incredible powers, so I don’t think Rouge getting through that blast door is too much. It’s the sort of thing Knuckles could have got through in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Rouge’s abilities are on a par with his, after all. Finally, we have Spike in panel 6, the fourth member of Sigma-Alpha 2 to appear in this chapter. As I’ve worked on their sprites, I’ve steadily figured out the roles each member of the team has. They weren’t really ever fleshed out in the Archie Sonic comic, so I wanted to at least understand what each member brings to the team in Eon’s World, even if I don’t plan to necessarily do a deep dive into their personalities at any point.
