Commentary for February 1, 2020: Happy February, dear readers! Believe it or not, when I first created this story for the Eon’s Comic remaster in 2018, I went into it with just a bullet-pointed plan, and never actually wrote a script for it. Heck, I didn’t script most of the remaster, I just altered the text that was already there in most cases, but this story arc replaced four of the original pages entirely, so there wasn’t an existing script to simply alter. I just winged it. That’s probably a monumentally irresponsible approach to a comic, but I think what I created was still pretty good somehow. Heck, I think it still is in this new, actually scripted version, and this scene with Blaze and Cream, in my opinion, is by far the best moment of the story. As I mentioned in a recent commentary for Vol. 2, Chapter 10, Eon’s World is very much a story-driven comic, as opposed to character-driven. But I do enjoy getting the occasional nice character moment like this in. Credits: Blaze sprites originally by Kaijin. |
