Commentary for July 19, 2014: Bad-guy teamups have often puzzled me. Take, for instance, Mr. Freeze teaming up with Poison Ivy in Batman & Robin. Their agendas are kind of at odds with each other; Mr. Freeze wants to put Gotham City in a new ice age and Poison Ivy wants to wipe out animal life as we know it (or at least humans) and replace it with plants. So, how did they envision things working out once they'd killed Batman? Fortunately, Kochanski is smarter than Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. The Martian Confederate Republic and the Echidna Empire, apart from having both been at war with the United Nations of Earth in the last few years, have little else in common. Finally get a close up on Horatio here, and I'm pleased with how he turned out. His glasses are essentially based on Nate Morgan's from Archie Sonic, although the circular eyepiece on the left side is just a magnifying glass for fine engineering work, not a tiny power ring what can shoot lasers. Addendum for November 11, 2019: In order to bring the format of the earlier chapters into line with Chapter 7 onwards, I’ve made an updated version of this page, which is larger, with clearer text. Hopefully, this will make the earlier chapters easier to read. |
