Commentary for July 24, 2021:
I’ve done a few
sunsets in this comic by now, but this one I think I’m proudest of.
It wasn’t in the script, I didn’t even draw it on paper, but when I
was digitising that final panel, I decided to show the sun in the
last second before vanishing below the horizon and show the
phenomenon of the green flash, which can sometimes be seen in the
last second or two just before the sun sets (or rises). It’s to do
with how light refracts through the atmosphere when the sun is that
low to the horizon. I think it’s pretty cool and I wanted to have it
here for that panel for no other reason than that. |
