Commentary for April 20, 2013:

Okay, Eon looks a bit odd in panel 2, I admit. He looks broader of shoulder than he really should and his mouth is a funny shape. Other than that, I'm reasonably satisfied with the art here. Mr. Crag could probably look better, but then I don't have a great deal of experience drawing humans, so I expect to get better with that as time goes on.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the lore of Eon's World (and that's going to be anyone who never read Eon's Comic), "what happened on the Jovian colonies" was one of the major story arcs of the latter days of the series before its ended. [Addendum, Oct 30, 2019: That story will be retold in Eon's World Vol. 1, which is a complete remake of Eon's Comic, but it will be a few years before we get to that yet.]

In a nutshell, Jupiter and its moons were officially under Martian control, but the people that lived there had practically no representation in the Martian government. Since Mars adopted a laissez faire economic policy for the Jovian colonies, a small number of corporations were able to establish effective control of the moons through monopolies, which resulted in extensive poverty and terrible living conditions for many Jovians. This led to a rebellion on the moons, which was a major contributing factor in the Earth-Mars War of 2510. Hence why Mr. Crag is bemoaning the apparent death of the "free market" in the Terran System.

I really dig this new format. It makes it possible to write an even wordier comic than before!

Addendum for October 3, 2019:

In order to bring the format of the earlier chapters into line with Chapter 7 onwards, I’ve made an updated version of this page, which is larger, with clearer text. Hopefully, this will make the earlier chapters easier to read.

Again, for reasons of lore and continuity, I made a couple of small tweaks to the dialogue here, mostly to establish Sally Acorn as a candidate for President of the Terran Union and also to highlight the shift towards significantly more progressive politics on Earth since the fall of the United Federation in 3237. (Yeah, that’s one to watch out for in Eon’s World Vol. 1, gentle reader.)
