Commentary for July 31, 2020: Some more of the blood and gore I promised and this isn’t even the worst of it yet. Just you wait. Anyway, as originally written, Delta said, “Let’s do it!” in panel 2. I was actively trying to give her more lines at the time for reasons I won’t go into here; but while revising the script, I realised that line was way too close to the classic Freedom Fighter rallying cry, so I just had to change it to, “Let’s do it to it!” But the only character here with any history as a Freedom Fighter is Eon. Of course, I originally wrote Chapter 7 sometime in early 2016, long before I made the decision to remake Eon’s Comic as Eon’s World Vol. 1, to say nothing of including the Archie Sonic Freedom Fighters in it, so of course it wouldn’t have occurred to me back then. It’s only revising this script (this page in particular) off the back of season 2 of Eon’s World Vol. 1, where Eon’s dream of becoming a Freedom Fighter has become a part of his character arc, that having him say this really makes sense. So yeah, spoilers for Vol. 1 I guess, but Eon was a Freedom Fighter before he was a Jedi and, if Sally’s arc in season 2 of Vol. 1 has proven anything, it’s that the Freedom Fighter spirit never really leaves you. |
