Commentary July 31, 2020: Eon is honestly being a bit of a jerk to Knuckles in that first panel. While I don’t like to write Knux as unintelligent (hello, Sonic Boom), I do still write him as hot-headed, quick to anger, and prone to violent outbursts in some situations... particularly when dealing with someone who has grievously wronged him. And in Knuckles’s defence, the last time he saw Cookirini, she was a Sith lord, Echidna Empress, and a mass murderer who ruled as a tyrant over about a quarter to a third of the entire planet (including Angel Island) and was well on track to conquering the rest of it (a story that will be told in full in Eon’s World Vol. 1 when we get there). The nuances of Cookirini’s unique situation and extenuating circumstances were kind of lost on not only Knuckles, but many others as well (again, a story that will be told in Vol. 1 in due time). |
