Page for June 29, 2003:

Commentary for September 06, 2018:

I probably thought I was being terribly clever by having my one hundredth page's story be a big party. Sort of a subtle nod to this major milestone. And it was quite a milestone at the time. After all, in the earliest days of Eon's World, I had told myself I'd be content with doing as many as fifty pages. I didn't know if I'd reach a hundred and I certainly had no idea I'd ever do as many as eight hundred!

I changed quite a lot of the story details for this page in the remaster, but the layout of the story is largely the same. The original version was kind of a jumbled mess, so I wanted to fix that. The first and biggest change was the appearance of Samanfur the Fox, who originally did not appear until page #152. She has, of course, been mentioned in previous pages, but only by her title and not by name, so I wanted to do this first appearance as a reveal as well.

The next change is the exchange with General Davis. Davis was present in the original version, but had no dialogue. I changed that to demonstrate the disdain he and others with whom he is affiliated have towards hybrids like Eon, as well as using it as an opportunity to highlight GUN's dubious recruitment policies. I always did wonder back then why GUN only seemed to have human soldiers and no other species. Obviously, today we know it's most likely because of this "two worlds" idea that is supposedly Sonic games canon, where there is a human world (featured in games like Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)) and Sonic's world of anthropomorphic animals (featured in the classic Sonic games as well as Sonic Heroes and Sonic Forces). Personally, I'm not a fan of this idea, which is why it's never going to be a thing in Eon's World, so I need an explanation for why GUN only recruits humans. And the answer is, of course, racism. More on that will be explored in time.

Finally, I aso included talk about a Meridian presidential election being potentially sooner than expected. Again, the benefit of foresight.
