Commentary for September 01, 2018:
Doctor Eggman is fun to write, and all the more so with writing him using a bit of mayhem to help him recover from a funk after a major loss. Obviously, in the orignal story, Eggman hadn't just suffered a major loss, so this wasn't him bouncing back. But I like what I've done with this story now.
Also, this is another encounter between Eggman and Sally. To Eggman, Sally is just a pest, having founded the Freedom Fighters to resist him in the past; he doesn't see her as the same level of threat that Eggman saw Princess Sally as in Archie Sonic and certainly not the same kind of threat that this Eggman sees Sonic as. On the other hand, Sally has a major heckin' grudge against Eggman after the things he did when he invaded the Islands (i.e. the Westside Archipelago), a lot of which has yet to be tackled in Eon's World at this point.
I also took this opportunity to reveal some of Sally's politics. Needless to say, she's anti-authoritarian -- heck, she founded the Freedom Fighters, which should give you a clue -- and she's very interested in curtailing police powers. There might be a bit real world politics creeping in here, but that's always been true of Eon's World.
