Page for May 25, 2003:

Commentary for September 01, 2018:

Visually, most of the changes to this page from the original 2003 version involve switching out some of the original sprites. I have occasionally thought about switching early sprites of characters like Eon, Silky, and CJ for better ones I made later, but which ones? How far forward will I need to pull from to be satisfied with how they look? And too far forward, they'll be wearing outfits innappropriate for this period, in which case I'd need to make new sprites altogether, at which point the remaster becomes substantially more difficult and time-consuming. I have to remind myself sometimes that I'm not trying to make it look like I was already an expert at working with sprites back then (if you could even call me that now), and that this remaster is more about tidying things up and making tweaks to the story and dialogue to better lead into Eon's World 2.0.

Talking of story, this one doesn't differ hugely from the original, except for the fact that Sally is now in it. I wanted to make a point from the get-go of just how authoritarian GUN is at this point (to the point of verging on fascism), which is why the soldier is disrespectfully barking orders at Silky the way he is, and I took this opportunity also to shed a little bit more light on Sally's backstory and show why she is not a fan of GUN. More of this will be revealed over time.
