Page for January 07, 2003:

Commentary for August 05, 2018:

One of the biggest changes from 1.0 to 2.0 was the country Silky Fox came from. Originally, it was a completely made up country called "Quinsiccus" (it doesn't mean anything -- it's just a word I made up because it sounded cool), but as time went on, it become increasingly apparent that Quinsiccus was literally just the Eon's World version of the United Kingdom. In 2.0, I ran with essentially that, by changing the name to Britannia and figuring out a vague idea of the nation's history.

Obviously, Britannia as depicted now is not the UK. It is a distant successor state, after some tumultuous history, breaking apart and reforming to become something new and better. And that is what the Federated Republic of Britannia is supposed to be. Not a perfect country, by any means, but something better than the UK today. That's why it's a republic and not a kingdom, despite having a monarchy. I'd elaborate, but I think Ballista explains it well enough on Page #024 as it is. Anything I say would be redundant. However, I will say that I did change this page substantially to reflect where I was with Britannia today vs. Quinsiccus 15 years ago.

Also, early on, I didn't address interspecies relationships or hybridisation, but it would become an issue as the series went on. For the remaster, I wanted to lay those foundations early.

Like the last page, this one also brings a character's first appearance earlier than in the original version of Eon's World 1.0. In this case, it's Ballista, Steward of Britannia, who originally didn't appear until page #86. She goes on to become a very important character in Eon's World.
